We are a Mother/Daughter team that loves fabric and loves to quilt. We wanted to help everyone have a chance to sew and be creative, even when life was very busy, so we created Afternoon Quilts. We are excited to offer kits that take all the labor intensive parts out of quilting. We have the fabric, pattern, backing and binding all chosen for you. All you have to do is sit down and sew!
About Katie –
I am the Daughter half of Afternoon Quilts. I have been quilting since I was a teenager, but began to really develop a passion for it about 8 years ago. That passion continued to grow until it eclipsed all of my other hobbies. I have never been terribly interested in following a pattern and I love to curate my own fabric mixes to use in my quilts. I was encouraged through the years as family and friends would be excited by my fabric choices and ask me if I could share my patterns with them. I love to give people the encouragement, ideas and tools they need to get excited about quilting. As I thought about how I could help people to find time to quilt the idea for Afternoon Quilts was born. I am so excited to now be encouraging quilters on a larger scale. I hope that our kits make it fun and easy for you to sit down and create quilts for your family and friends that will be loved for years to come.

I am the Mother half of Afternoon Quilts. I have been sewing and creating with fabric for most of my life. I created hand made garments for my baby sister when I was 13, and the first quilt I remember making is for my oldest child when I was 19. I have always loved to create things with fabric. I have continued to sew and quilt through the years and I especially love making quilts and bags. Through the years I have made many quilts for each of my 19 grandchildren and I have many cabinets and shelves full of my creations. When my daughter approached me with her idea for Afternoon Quilts it seemed like a perfect way to get to do what I love, enjoy all the new fabrics, and spend time with my daughter.
